TESTIMONIALS

I recently visited face studio for some Botox and facial treatments, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! Leeanne was super friendly and made me feel right at home. She took the time to explain each procedure and answered all my questions, which really put me at ease. The results are fantastic. I would highly recommend if you're looking for quality treatments and a great atmosphere!

Nurse Leeanne was my first and has been my only go to for any cosmetic injections. She is gentle and honest and gave me her professional opinion about lip injections and how much would be best for me. She genuinely cares and it shows. To this day, I always get complimented on how natural my lips look. Can’t wait to go back to her and will always make the trip to Toronto for her! So worth it and I cannot recommend her enough!

FAQs

While you must be 18 years old to consent to elective cosmetic procedures, "preventative" Botox often starts in the mid-20s to early 30s.

  • The Rule of Thumb: If you see a faint line while your face is at rest, it’s a good time to start.

  • Fillers: These are usually age-agnostic and are used whenever a patient wants to address volume loss or structural enhancement (like lips or jawline).

1

Minimum Age for Botox?

When performed by a licensed, experienced professional (like an NP or RN), these treatments have an excellent safety profile.

  • Botox: Has been FDA-approved for cosmetic use for over 20 years.

  • Filler: Most modern fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), a sugar molecule naturally found in your skin.

2

Is this safe?

What is the difference between Botox vs. Filler

3

Botox works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to relax overactive muscles, reducing dynamic wrinkles caused by facial expressions like frowning or squinting. Dermal fillers physically add volume beneath the skin using substances like hyaluronic acid, restoring lost facial volume and smoothing static wrinkles that remain even when the face is at rest.

What is a Neurotoxin?!

4

It sounds scary, but in the aesthetic world, it’s a highly purified protein derived from Clostridium botulinum.

  • How it works: It temporarily blocks the nerve signals to specific muscles.

  • The Result: The muscle stops contracting, which allows the skin above it to smooth out. It doesn't "freeze" your face unless you overdo the dosage; it just hits the "pause" button on the squinting or frowning that causes deep wrinkles.

What about "Migration"?

5

Migration is when filler moves from the original injection site to a neighboring area (most common in the "filler mustache" above the upper lip).

  • Why it happens: Usually due to over-filling, poor technique, or using a product that is too thin for the area.

  • The Fix: If filler migrates, it can be dissolved using an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. To prevent it, "slow and steady" is the best approach to building volume.
